Designing Courts for Sports
Project Overview
Before sport facilities are built within your community, architects have to carefully plan all of the details on blueprints. Precise calculations have to be made in designing the playing areas so that equipment such as nets and poles are standard size and all boundary lines are symmetrically positioned in order to foster fair play. For this project, you will be required to design a playing area to accommodate a specific sport of your choice. Professional standard measurements of boundary lines and equipment structure for your sport will need to be researched in order to ensure that your playing area meets all standard requirements. By researching, designing blueprints, converting measurements, creating tables and spreadsheets, and working with scale factors, this project will give you a first hand experience into some of the challenges architects confront when designing a new facility.
